The Kintsugi cup UZU·MAKI is crafted from two different types of clay, whose natural color contrast defines the vessel. The interwoven layers create a serene, graphic movement that requires no additional painting.

The cracks that formed during the firing process were repaired using traditional Kintsugi techniques and now form an accent that underscores the cup's character. An everyday vessel, it gains a special presence through its combination of materials and the visible repair.

The clay pieces are handcrafted by Heike Bischof (Ceramic workshop Atelier am Chamissoplatz). The artist receives the standard price she would charge for each piece after its sale.

Since 2011, handcrafted ceramics have been created at Atelier am Chamissoplatz – from simple, functional stoneware series to individual pieces and custom commissions. The workshop combines meticulous craftsmanship with a clear, understated design language and also offers workshops for those interested.

Heike Bischof, born in Berlin and a certified ceramicist from Landshut since 2008, runs the studio as an independent craftswoman. Here, she combines traditional techniques with a contemporary understanding of everyday ceramics.
