The delicate, hand-painted decoration of the Kintsugi mug KUMO·NO·SU II (くも㽥の㽥す II) features stylized leaf motifs that extend from the rim into the center of the mug. Snails and peacock eyes are subtly discernible among them, drawn with the fineness of cobwebs in the glaze.

The breaks in the glaze, emphasized by the Kintsugi technique, blend harmoniously into the existing pattern, lending the mug an additional layer of depth and expression.

This Kintsugi mug is also available in a set with a furoshiki by Yurika Saito. The cloth complements the ceramic with its subtle color gradient and highlights the collaboration between the two workshops. The result is a set that seamlessly blends ceramic and textile, making it suitable for both gifting and personal use.

These cotton furoshiki 風呂敷 textiles were hand-dyed using kusaki-zome (草木染め) a traditional Japanese natural dyeing method that utilizes plants and everyday materials.

TEA & RUST

Each piece was dyed with rust and repurposed tea leaves collected by tea sommelier Kwok Ying von Beuningen in Berlin.

Over time, the rust slowly penetrates the fibers and reacts with the tannins in the tea, creating unique colors and patterns that cannot be reproduced.
