The KO・NAMI cup is characterized by a dark, earthy glaze with a vibrant, dynamic texture. The cracks are accentuated with black urushi and deliberately integrated into the surface. A maki-e decoration in genuine gold adorns the damaged area: a motif that echoes and extends the dynamism of the glaze. Repair and design merge seamlessly, making the movement of the material visible.
This handcrafted piece is part of a series of objects created in collaboration with Tee Kontor Kiel, in which broken ceramic and porcelain items are given a new lease on life through the Kintsugi technique.
