This Kintsugi cup combines handcrafted ceramics with a serene color palette and delicate, golden fracture lines. Made of ceramic, the cup features a soft gray-green surface with a watercolor-like texture. The fracture process created a new, distinctive network of lines, which were then traced with traditional Urushi lacquer and gilded. The name – Japanese for “green-covered mountain” – refers to the shapes within the glaze, reminiscent of an ink painting of verdant mountain ranges.
This handcrafted piece is part of a series of objects created in collaboration with Tee Kontor Kiel, in which broken ceramic and porcelain items are given a new life through the Kintsugi technique.
