Since 2011, handcrafted ceramics have been created at Atelier am Chamissoplatz – from simple, functional stoneware series to individual pieces and custom commissions. The workshop combines meticulous craftsmanship with a clear, understated design language and also offers workshops for those interested.

Heike Bischof, born in Berlin and a certified ceramicist from Landshut since 2008, runs the studio as an independent craftswoman. Here, she combines traditional techniques with a contemporary understanding of everyday ceramics.

Hon Kintsugi – Traditional Kintsugi

The original shards were joined using the traditional hon-kintsugi method, employing urushi Japanese lacquer and glue made from glutinous rice or wheat flour. The cracks on the outside were painted over with urushi Japanese lacquer and finished with bronze.
